Tuscany – Olive Harvest

Every year from October through early December, olives are harvested throughout the region of Tuscany, Italy. This is a tradition rooted in land, labor and legacy. Families and friends gather into the groves working side by side, moving nets, combing branches by hands or with the help of “battitori” ( battery operated mechanical beaters) and carrying crates. It is hard work, repetitive and physically taxing but the rewards are worth it.
